Mechanical Engineer Lincolnshire (Feed Mill)
Salary: £35,548 (Single Skilled)
Hours: 40 hours per week 5 days per week

Youll be part of a skilled maintenance team responsible for ensuring high standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency across a busy 24/7 operation.
The Role
As a Mechanical Engineer, youll play a hands-on and proactive role in maintaining and improving the mechanical integrity of the site. Youll be working on a wide range of plant and equipment, from conveyors and mixers to elevators, motors, gearboxes, and automated process systems.

Key Responsibilities
Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM):
* Deliver the sites PPM schedule, ensuring all maintenance tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with engineering standards.
* Review PPM outcomes and propose improvements to extend equipment life and reduce reactive breakdowns.
Reactive Maintenance and Fault Diagnosis:
* Respond quickly and effectively to breakdowns, carrying out fault diagnosis and root cause analysis to prevent reoccurrence.
* Liaise with production and operations teams to minimise downtime and maintain output targets.
Equipment Repair and Overhaul:
* Carry out repairs, rebuilds, and mechanical adjustments on key process machinery and site infrastructure.
* Use appropriate tools, welding/fabrication techniques, and mechanical fitting skills to ensure long-term reliability.
Continuous Improvement:
* Identify and implement engineering improvements to enhance performance, reduce energy consumption, and improve reliability.
* Contribute to site projects, upgrades, and process modifications in collaboration with engineering and production teams.
Health, Safety & Compliance:
* Work to the highest health, safety, and environmental standards, following safe systems of work and permit-to-work procedures.
* Actively participate in risk assessments, audits, and safety briefings.
Maintenance Planning & Stock Control:
* Support the Engineering Supervisor in maintaining accurate maintenance records and asset data.
* Assist with spare parts management, ordering components, and ensuring critical stock levels are maintained within budget.
Automation & Process Support:
* Collaborate with control engineers to support automated systems and resolve process faults linked to mechanical performance.
* Contribute to site-wide initiatives aimed at improving automation reliability and throughput.
Sustainability & Environmental Responsibility:
* Monitor the performance of plant equipment to ensure energy-efficient operation.
* Take proactive steps to minimise waste and environmental impact within your area.
About You
Were looking for a Mechanical Engineer who can bring strong technical expertise and a proactive attitude.
* Proven mechanical maintenance experience within an industrial, manufacturing, or feed milling environment.
* Confident in fault finding, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems.
* A good understanding of preventive maintenance principles and asset care.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
* Competent IT user (Microsoft Office, maintenance systems).
* Experience with industrial boilers and IOSH certification are desirable.
