They are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their Edinburgh team. This role offers the opportunity to lead projects, work through RIBA stages, and mentor junior staff. The office culture is relaxed and flexible, with regular social events.
Responsibilities:
* Understanding project briefs
* Design and specification of Mechanical Building Services systems
* Producing detailed calculations with industry-standard software (Hevp, IES, HAP, AutoCAD, Revit, Excel)
* Preparing technical specifications
* Collaborating with BIM team on models and drawings
* Representing the organization at meetings
* Conducting site surveys and inspections
* Writing reports and technical notes
* Maintaining project records
* Adhering to quality, environmental, and governance standards
* Managing workload and project delivery within budget and time constraints
* Supporting technical development of junior staff
Requirements:
* Degree in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related
* Chartered Engineer or working towards CEng with CIBSE or IET
* Proficiency with mechanical digital tools (Hevp, IES, HAP, AutoCAD, Revit)
* Knowledge of building physics principles
* Experience in a design consultancy or contractor environment
* Understanding of technical standards
* Ability to manage projects and make independent decisions
* Good report writing and presentation skills
