Description
The Legal counsel position will hold the following responsibilities:
* Be responsible for the development of several projects
* Manage projects from pre-application through to completion
* Advising on acquisitions, consenting and engagement strategies, environmental impact assessments habitats regulations and DCO implementation
* Work with the wider project team for the submission of Development Consent Orders
* Respond to requests under the Freedom of Information Act
* Provide comprehensive legal advice to internal stakeholders on a variety of matters
* Work with the team to manage and mitigate risks
* Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate policies
* Support projects and transactions by providing timely and accurate legal input
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory developments
Profile
A successful Legal Counsel should have:
* Qualified solicitor status or equivalent legal qualification
* 3 years+ of relevant post qualification experience
* Prior experience and understanding of Development Consent Orders is essential
* A strong understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to the industry
* Excellent problem-solving skills with a practical and solutions-focused approach
* Outstanding attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
* Strong communication skills to liaise confidently with stakeholders at all levels
