We are looking for a Sheet Metal Worker (SMW) to join our team at CHC Helicopter. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the SMW Mechanic will be part of our professional maintenance team, committed to continual improvement and meeting/exceeding tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The team is responsible for delivering our multi-type fleet of helicopters to the flight line to help our customers achieve their goals.
The key responsibilities of a Sheet Metal Worker include:
* Perform aircraft skin and structure inspections, in accordance with approved applicable data (including composite repairs).
* Perform routine and unscheduled maintenance on our S92 and EC175 helicopter fleet.
* Assist with aircraft teardown and rebuild during base maintenance projects.
* Accurate documentation of maintenance within the scope of their approval.
* Use of appropriate machine tools such as guillotines, bending machines, saws, rollers, and hand tools.
* Use of measuring tools such as verniers, micrometers, etc.
* Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of work areas.
* Observe health, safety, and environmental policies within their area.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience with rotary wing aircraft, preferably within the oil and gas environment, though other types and industry experience will be considered.
* Experience in carrying out sheet metal repairs to aviation standards, preferably in rotary wing environments.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, repair schemes, and structural repair manuals.
* Ability to work as part of a team or independently within a dynamic Part 145 base maintenance environment.
* Awareness of MSDS and COSHH requirements.
* Knowledge of aviation regulations, policies, and environment.
* Computer literacy; experience with AMOS MRO software is preferred but not essential.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to work well within a high-performing team.
Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK. They will also be required to pass psychometric evaluations, a UK security background check, and a Disclosure Scotland check to obtain an airport security pass.
