Main Duties
Are you a Ward Sister / Charge Nurse or an experienced Staff Nurse with endoscopy experience looking for a new challenge? If so, we would love to have you join our teams. We are excited to offer a permanent, Band 6 post (30hrs) within the specialist medicine care in endoscopy. Previous endoscopy experience is essential for the role. UHS endoscopy unit is a JAG accredited, demanding environment, constantly modernising to deliver high quality services within current healthcare demands. The unit is open Mon – Fri 8am – 8pm, Sat – Sun 8-6pm, and supports on‑call cover.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
You will act as a role model for nursing staff, encouraging effective working relationships and the development of a cohesive nursing team. You will be responsible for assisting the Senior Sister in the management of the ward on a daily basis, ensuring high standards of care are maintained.
We are looking for individuals who are strong leaders who are highly motivated and have excellent communication skills. The sister/charge nurse role requires a close working relationship with multi‑professional teams to ensure that evidence‑based quality care is delivered with compassion to every patient. Person Specification
Essential Criteria
* Qualified Nurse (Degree/Diploma)
* Registered nurse on appropriate part of the register
* Significant post registration experience / qualification / training, including experience and knowledge within relevant speciality
* Ward management experience
* Knowledge of current issues within acute Health Service
* Experience in an acute hospital setting
* Provide evidence of supporting / managing a range of learners in practice
* Provide evidence of supporting colleagues to promote effective learning in practice
Desirable Criteria
* Experience in handling adverse events and complaints
* Appraisal skills
* Act in the role of Practice Assessor or supporting the progression of learners / supporting challenges as needed
* Some insight into budget management
