We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food production and kitchen management, with a focus on delivering high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. As the Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing kitchen operations, ensuring food safety standards are met, and leading a team of cooks to create exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
Responsibilities
* Supervise and coordinate daily kitchen activities, ensuring efficient food preparation and presentation.
* Assist in menu planning and development, taking into account seasonal ingredients and customer preferences.
* Manage food production processes to maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
* Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
* Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new recipes and improve existing ones.
* Monitor inventory levels, placing orders as necessary to ensure adequate supplies are available.
* Assist in managing kitchen budgets and controlling food costs effectively.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar culinary role within a restaurant setting.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
* Comprehensive knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation styles.
* Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in hospitality.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of food production.
* Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards of quality.
