Job Description:
This role is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days per week in Gloucestershire, Somerset, or Worcestershire. The initial contract is for 6 months, outside IR35, and involves a full-lifecycle infrastructure role supporting a major business transformation with Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365) deployment across multiple business units.
We are looking for a seasoned Infrastructure Architect to lead the end-to-end infrastructure workstream. This is not just a design role; it requires ownership across the entire architectural lifecycle, from discovery to cutover and transition.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own the infrastructure architecture lifecycle: discovery, requirements, high-level and low-level design, build oversight, testing, and transition.
* Produce comprehensive architecture documentation covering environments, networks, security, identity, and disaster recovery.
* Engage with business units, internal IT teams, and external vendors to define and validate infrastructure needs.
* Support governance, planning, and design assurance throughout the project delivery.
* Guide infrastructure teams during implementation to ensure alignment with the architectural design.
* Participate in testing and go-live readiness activities; support knowledge transfer to operational teams.
* Extensive experience as an Infrastructure Architect on large-scale D365 programs.
* Proven track record delivering architecture in complex, multi-entity environments.
* Broad technical knowledge including hybrid cloud, Azure AD, security, integrations, performance, and scalability.
* Ability to work effectively across multiple business units and with delivery partners.
* Excellent communication and documentation skills, confident in planning and governance discussions.
