An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Doctoral Academy as the AHRC Northern Hub Manager. The Hub is a partnership of ten universities across the North of England, offering coordinated, highquality training and development for postgraduate researchers funded through the AHRC Doctoral Landscape Awards.
We are seeking an enthusiastic, proactive and wellorganised individual to lead the operational delivery of the Hub. Working closely with the Academic Director and colleagues across all partner institutions, the post holder will coordinate an annual programme of training, design and deliver development activities, manage the Hub’s communications and website, and oversee key aspects of financial planning and reporting. They will play a central role in shaping innovative training provision and fostering an engaging, interdisciplinary researcher community.
The successful candidate will have experience in researcher development or learning and development, with strong skills in planning, communication and event coordination. They will be confident managing budgets, influencing senior colleagues, and working collaboratively across multiple institutions. Excellent organisational abilities, digital literacy, and an understanding of UKRI priorities are essential, alongside a commitment to delivering outstanding service and supporting the University’s values.
