Purpose of Role
We are seeking a Commercial Assistant to support the Commercial Manager in improving performance across contracts, both financially and operationally.
The role provides flexible support across the full spectrum of commercial and administrative functions, contributing to successful project outcomes.
Job Description
We are looking for someone with a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement, who will develop a strong understanding of commercial processes and procedures and apply best practice to maximise returns in terms of profit.
This is a fast-paced role with clear opportunities for progression and development.
Responsibilities
1. Support sub-contractors with invoicing queries and provide commercial information.
2. Work closely with operational and QS teams to support project delivery.
3. Receive, prepare and process payments accurately and on time.
4. Prepare commercial documentation and maintain Excel trackers.
5. Ensure correct application and interpretation of contracts for operational colleagues.
6. Monitor chargeable works and support the conversion of work in progress to cash.
7. Prepare applications for payment, invoicing and client quotations.
8. Provide general commercial and administrative support, including meetings, filing and communication with departments, customers and suppliers.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
9. Ideally commercial and finance experience.
10. Strong Excel skills, with willingness to learn and develop advanced Excel capabilities.
11. Experience supporting sub-contractor payments.
12. Ability to prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
13. Strong communication skills across multiple stakeholders.
14. Requires a full UK driving licence, with some travel to sites.
