Overview
As an Arboricultural Consultant you would join our ecology team (50+ strong) with over 20 years of experience undertaking the full range of ecological and arboricultural surveys and assessments, as well as the provision of advice on masterplanning, mitigation and enhancement design, ecosystem service and natural capital assessment. As part of our Environmental team, you’ll help improve quality of life, with work involving protected species, pollution, surface water and materials management, air quality or noise, in some of the world’s busiest and most beautiful locations.
Role accountabilities
* Applying your expertise by conducting surveys and providing associated reports to drive our core passion: to improve quality of life in a sustainable way.
* Undertaking BS 5837 2012 Arboricultural surveys and producing associated reports, Arboricultural Impact Assessment (AIAs) and Arboricultural Method Statements (AMSs).
* Undertaking climbed surveys on occasion to inspect potential bat roosting features.
* Provide general advice on Arboricultural issues.
* Complete arboricultural projects and provide Arboricultural advice to clients.
Qualifications & Experience
* Applicants should hold a suitable qualification (e.g., FdSc Arb, BSc or Technician’s Certificate in Arboriculture or higher or closely related field) and membership of the Arboricultural Association or the Institute of Chartered Foresters.
* Arboricultural knowledge including BS 5837 2012 Tree Quality Surveys and the preparation of Arboricultural Impact Assessments / Arboricultural Method Statements.
* Previous experience undertaking tree condition surveys, BS5837 surveys and reporting, with a proven track record in writing tree reports suitable for planning applications (appropriate to grade).
* Understanding of health and safety related issues regarding site survey and supervision.
* Desirable: LANTRA Professional Tree Inspector Certificate.
* Desirable: CS38: Accessing a Tree with Rope and Harness and Aerial Rescue.
* Desirable: Experience of database asset management software and tablet data collection.
* Desirable: Experience of assessing trees for their potential for roosting bats.
