Chichester College Group have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Exams Invigilator (Bank) at our Brinsbury College campus. You will join us on a variable hours basis. In return, we will offer a competitive salary of £15.60 per hour.
The Exams Invigilator (Bank) role:
Are you interested in helping us at Brinsbury College deliver our busy GCSE exams in the summer term?
Our GCSE Maths and English exams take place on 5 days a year and require a large team of bank invigilators to support existing staff. We are looking for candidates with the confidence to supervise exam rooms and to ensure that awarding body regulations are adhered to. You may also be asked to read or scribe for individual learners who have been assessed as needing additional support in exams.
The GCSE exam dates in 2026 are 14 and 21 May and 3, 5 and 10 June. If you are interested in continuing with the role outside the GCSE exam season there may also be a small amount of invigilation work available at other times in the year, including November and March.
Full training will be provided before you are asked to invigilate for the first time.
Key Responsibilities of ourExams Invigilator (Bank):
* To complete annual invigilator training requirements to ensure awareness of awarding body regulations and college procedures.
* To set up and run the exam room, including carrying out ID checks and relaying instructions to a group of candidates in a confident, yet approachable manner.
* To provide exam access arrangements to candidates including acting as a reader / scribe / prompt.
* To maintain the integrity of exam procedures by ensuring the security of exam papers before the exam and the collation of papers and scripts at the end of the exam, returning them to the exams office for dispatch.
* To comply with college-wide policies including our Health and Safety policy, Equal Opportunities policy, Data Protection policy and Safeguarding policy and practices.
Our ideal Lecturer in Exams Invigilator (Bank) should have the following skills and experience:
* GCSE grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English
* Experience working with students/young people
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
* The ability to work alone and as part of a team with interpersonal skills
* Flexible and proactive approach to work
* The ability to work evening and weekends
