About Knowl Park House:
We are looking for new team members to join our exciting venture. Knowl Park House Dementia Day opportunities moved into a new building based in Mirfield in November 2024 and the building has been specially designed for Dementia care. We will be looking after up to 40 service users each day. We offer a wide range of person-centred activities within the centre and out in the community.
Knowl Park House is a modern, fit for purpose, flexible day centre that will cater for up to 40 people living with dementia each day (currently Mon-Fri) when at capacity.
The dementia day service includes facilities that enhances enjoyment of life, offering services for people with dementia living in Kirklees.
The Role:
We are seeking someone with a 'can-do' attitude. The role will mainly involve driving a council minibus across the borough of Kirklees to pick up and drop off our users.
There may be occasion where the jobholders may also need to undertake basic maintenance of buildings and grounds.
The working pattern is usually between 8am & 10am and 3pm & 5pm Monday to Friday. The service may consider flexibility around these hours which can be discussed with successful candidates at a later date.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Driver Duties
* Porterage
* Maintenance or cleaning of vehicles, equipment and buildings
* Miscellaneous
Due to the manual nature of this job a good level of fitness is essential, as is the ability to drive a minibus.
You must hold a full and valid manual driving licence, ideally with category D1. You must also be willing to undertake and pass the Kirklees Council driving test and travel between sites using a Council vehicle. Successful candidates may be expected to commence work in either Huddersfield or Mirfield depending on the needs of the service and bus availability.
Craig Denby is the manager for this role, please contact them on for an informal discussion, or if you need any more information.
This job is subject to a DBS check at the appropriate level, please refer to the Job Description/Profile. A conviction may not exclude candidates from appointment but will be considered as part of the recruitment process.
