Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Barista / Catering Assistant with a passion for exceptional coffee and providing great service to join our team at Tormead School in Guildford.
Location: Tormead School, Guildford, GU1
Salary: £12.15 per hour
Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm, term-time only. This role offers an excellent work-life balance.
Responsibilities
* Prepare and Serve Beverages and Snacks: Create and serve a variety of coffee and tea beverages, as well as light snacks, in line with established recipes and customer preferences, working with a team to deliver a high standard of service.
* Maintain Cleanliness of Service Areas: Keep the coffee station and front-of-house areas clean and organized, including arranging cups, utensils, and other items.
* Follow Food Safety Protocols: Adhere to proper food and drink handling and storage procedures to ensure quality and prevent contamination.
* Inventory Management: Monitor coffee, milk, syrups, and other inventory levels, informing management of any shortages or discrepancies.
* Customer Service: Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff, ensuring a positive experience and addressing any dietary concerns.
* Participate in Training: Engage in training sessions focused on food service, beverage preparation, safety protocols, and customer service standards to maintain high service quality.
Qualifications
* Ideally have experience working within education catering
* Good Health & Safety knowledge
* Flexible with a can-do attitude, customer focused
* Enthusiastic, with excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail
* Team player and able to contribute to collective success
* Strong customer service skills
