Cafe Supervisor – Front of House / Hospitality
A fantastic opportunity for a customer‑focused hospitality professional to lead front of house operations, deliver outstanding customer service, and support a busy café environment with strong team leadership, service excellence, and operational coordination skills.
SALARY: £27,052 per annum pro rata + Benefits
LOCATION: Wakefield, West Yorkshire, Yorkshire and the Humber
JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: Minimum 15 hours / up to 22.5 Hours per Week, including weekends
JOB OVERVIEW
This role is ideal for someone with strong front of house experience, team leadership skills, and a passion for delivering excellent customer service in a fast‑paced café environment.
DUTIES
* Team Leadership: Supervise front of house staff, delegate tasks, and ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations
* Customer Service Excellence: Deliver outstanding customer service, creating a welcoming and professional environment
* Operational Management: Coordinate daily café operations, ensuring efficient service and workflow
* Staff Training and Development: Support onboarding and training across service standards, menus, and allergen awareness
* Stock Control and Inventory: Monitor stock levels, manage deliveries, and minimise waste through effective rotation
* Financial Administration: Operate POS systems, manage cash handling, and complete accurate end‑of‑day procedures
* Service Standards and Presentation: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, layout, and visual presentation
* Event Support: Assist with catering and hospitality for private events and bookings
* Compliance and Safety: Ensure adherence to food hygiene, allergen regulations, and health and safety procedures
* Team Communication: Deliver clear briefings and maintain effective communication across shifts
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
ESSENTIAL
* Previous experience supervising or leading a team in a busy customer‑facing or hospitality environment
* Strong customer service skills with a passion for delivering an excellent visitor experience
* Proven ability to lead, motivate, and support a team
* Experience working in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
* A proactive, professional, and enthusiastic approach
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive working practices
DESIRABLE
* Experience with barista duties and coffee preparation using commercial machines
* Knowledge of stock control, inventory management, and POS systems
* Understanding of food hygiene, allergen awareness, and health and safety standards
* Experience supporting events or catering services
