Straight-Line Civils are currently hiring an Operations Manager within an HR department in West Bromwich. The main purpose of this role is to lead and enhance HR operations across a multi-site organisation, streamlining HR processes, ensuring compliance, and adopting a positive workplace culture. You will be based in Birmingham, but your responsibilities will extend to Leicester and Watford. You will act as a vital resource for employees and managers, combining strategic insight with organisational performance, while maintaining consistent HR practices across sites. Key Responsibilities: * Evaluate, redesign, and implement HR processes to enhance operations and ensure compliance * Identify areas where systems/processes can be enhanced or automated to optimise workflows * Monitor HR metrics and use data-driven insights to improve efficiency and engagement * Guide conflict resolution and employee development plans * Oversee grievance handling, disciplinary processes, and performance management, ensuring fairness and consistency * Ensure the consistent application HR policies that align with current employment laws * Update HR policies as required to reflect legal and strategic changes * Maintain accurate/compliant employee records and support audits * Oversee recruitment processes, partnering with managers to attract top talent * Enhance onboarding programs and implement retention strategies * Support talent and succession planning initiatives, focusing on leadership development * Maintain balanced communication and practices across all locations * Oversee payroll, benefits, and employee record management * Support performance reviews, workforce planning, and training initiatives * Serve as the primary point of contact for HR inquiries, ensuring a timely resolution Person Specification: Essential: * Proven experience as an HR Manager, with a focus on process optimisation and operational efficiency (preferably within a manufacturing environment) * Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR practices * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Exceptional problem-solving capabilities with a proactive approach * Outstanding organisational skills Desirable: * CIPD Level 5 or 7 qualification * Experience in supporting multi-site operations * Analytical skills to evaluate data and develop actionable insights Attributes: * Team player with strong interpersonal skills * Approachable and trusted advisor to employees and management * Ability to inspire trust Salary - £75,000 - £85,000 per annum We are offering a competitive salary and benefits package.
