Location: London (primarily remote)
We’re looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer with strong Google Cloud Platform (GCP) expertise to join a central platforms team. This is a hands‑on contract role focused on designing, delivering, and optimising secure, scalable cloud infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on automation, reliability, and modern engineering practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, build, and support cloud infrastructure with a focus on GCP
* Manage services across GKE, GCE, Cloud SQL, networking, and security
* Deliver Infrastructure as Code using Terraform / CloudFormation
* Improve CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
* Implement monitoring, alerting, and performance optimisation
* Ensure strong security controls across IAM, networking, and encryption
* Troubleshoot incidents, perform root cause analysis, and improve resilience
* Collaborate with DevOps, Engineering, and Security teams
Skills Required
* 3+ years’ experience in Cloud Engineering
* Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
* Expertise with Terraform
* Experience with Kubernetes / GKE / Docker
* Scripting skills in Python, Bash, Ruby, or Perl
* Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, DNS, Load Balancing, SSL
* Experience with AWS or Azure would be beneficial
* Experience with Ansible / Puppet / Chef desirable
