****** THIS POSITION IS ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT UNIVERSITY HOSPITALS NHS FOUNDATION TRUST EMPLOYEES ****** An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Site Nurse Practitioner Band 7 nurse to join our dynamic Clinical Site Management Team at the RSCH. As a Band 7 nurse on secondment, you will be an integral part of our team, working alongside experienced colleagues to deliver high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for supporting the operational responsibility and accountability for emergency and elective patient flow. Working in collaboration with the Divisions the post holder will work to National and Trust performance standards whilst ensuring optimum patient experience. You will; work directly to the Clinical Site Manager on shift. You will also be expected to contribute to the smooth running of the hospital. This role is eligible for visa sponsorship under the UK Visas & Immigration (UKVI) Skilled Worker route however sponsorship can only be provided where applicants meet the specific requirements set by UKVI, including the relevant skill and salary thresholds (£25000), and any role-specific criteria.

Main duties of the job

The Site Nurse Practitioner (SNP) is a senior role charged with supporting the operational responsibility and accountability for emergency and elective patient flow. The post holder is crucial to ensuring that patients are admitted to hospital in a timely and appropriate manner and that beds, specialist advice and intervention are available as and when needed. The post holder will, as part of a team provide operational and clinical leadership, ensuring that high quality care is provided at all times.Working in collaboration with the Divisions the post holder will work to National and Trust performance standards whilst ensuring optimum patient experience, working as an independent practitioner providing and facilitating clinical assessment and management of patients according to protocols.The SNP, in conjunction with the Clinical Site Manager, will take account of the situation across the whole Trust 24 hours a day and act in accordance with corporate and clinical priorities. They are part of the first response to incidents.They will maintain contemporaneous and accurate recording and reporting of SITREP, IPC and other reports as necessary. The role provides 24/7 covering the Royal Sussex County Hospital and out of hours at Princess Royal Hospital. The post holder will co-ordinate and manage the unplanned and planned activity including intra hospital transfers in and out of the Trust.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder works as part of the Clinical Site Management (CSM) team and have the ability to undertake all of the roles within the CSM team. The Site Practitioner will be managing surgical capacity and or medical capacity. They will deputise for the Clinical Site Manager when required. They take account of any situations that arise across the Hospital Site, 24 hours a day and act in accordance with corporate and clinical priorities in conjunction with the Clinical Site Managers. The post holder facilitates swift access to appropriate care and to minimise delays for both emergency and elective admissions. They work on collaboration with ED to ensure that patients receive timely assessment, referral and transfer from the ED and assessment areas in order that clinical care can be optimised, and the Trust standards and guidelines achieved. Essential in supporting and advising in the placement of all elective admissions to prevent cancellations. In the event of any elective cancellation inform appropriate personnel to ensure accurate record keeping, reporting data and the rebooking of patients. Supporting actions necessary to facilitate efficient and effective processes. This may include expediting TTO’s and transport for earlier discharges, identifying patients who can be cared for in different settings.

1. Experience as a Band 6 or above
2. First degree in Nursing of heath related subject
3. ENB 998 or equivalent teaching, LEO or RCN leadership programme
4. Masters’ Degree or equivalent qualification
5. A1 NVQ Assessor
6. Mentorship qualification

Desirable criteria

7. Acute experience
8. NVQ Diploma Management Level 4
