Overview
Face to Face Tutors needed to provide core subject support (Maths, English, or Science) for young people with SEND, SEMH and other Additional Educational Needs. Multiple positions are available and hiring is ongoing to meet the range of needs supported. We are looking for tutors with a genuine passion for transforming the lives of disengaged, at-risk, and vulnerable learners. The successful tutor will need to be patient, empathetic and able to create and deliver learning plans on a 1 to 1 basis. A therapeutic approach may be needed to re-engage students with their learning. The aim is to provide the pupil with structure in their daily routine and to continue their educational development, ultimately helping them return to an educational setting.
We are on a mission to transform the quality of education provided to young people with SEN (Special Education Needs) / SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities), including those with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs. We are increasingly supporting children and young people with MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties) and SLD (Severe Learning Difficulties). This role is ideal for qualified SEN / SEND tutors who want to work via 1:1 tutoring with a variety of learning needs in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve their educational journey.
Responsibilities
* Provide Maths and English tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Prospero Teaching
* Deliver learning plans on a 1:1 basis and use a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach to re-engage students
* Support pupils to gain structure in their daily routine and continued educational development

* Gross pay for this role is between £25 p/h - £30 p/h (base rate + 12.07% holiday pay)

Requirements
* Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD, SLD, and/or other Additional Educational Needs
* Experience, knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes
* Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost if needed)
* Two professional references
* You must be based in the UK with the right to work in the UK
