Foodhall Assistant Buyer
House of Bruar is looking for an Assistant Buyer to join our busy, award winning Foodhall team. Salary is advertised but will vary depending on experience.

About the Role
· Liaise with suppliers to negotiate better prices and margin
· Management of incoming stock, stock rotation and merchandising within the remits given to you by the Food Hall Buyer.
· Increase the profitability of the Food Hall.
· Reduction of waste and OOD stock with strategic ordering using sales and stock information.
· Management of new and existing suppliers within your remit, including pricing negotiations and NPD.
· Creating a 6 monthly review of new products to be considered for areas of responsibility, and a review of underperforming products as well.
· Decision making in the absence of the Food Hall Buying Manager.
· Liaise with suppliers to ensure support for tastings and sample support
· Continued development of the Food Hall website with guidance from the Food Hall Buyer.
· Highlighting best sellers and underperforming items – providing suggested solutions to enhance/reduce the impact on the business.
· Complete a monthly report prior to team meetings and contribute during team meetings
· Maintain control of stock values/quantities
About you
· Expert level knowledge of excel and the ability to train others to same standard
· Previous experience in a decision making buying role, or senior administrative support role as a minimum
· Great communicator at all levels – you will be dealing with directors, suppliers, shopfloor teams and customers.
· Organised and methodical worker, but with the ability to change priorities as different needs arise
· Sound knowledge of seasonal trends
