Responsible Individual - Ofsted Children's Residential Homes
Location: Remote, with regular travel across the South (including Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Hampshire, and surrounding areas)
Salary: £50,000 – £65,000 per annum (including performance bonus)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Monday to Friday

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Responsible Individual to provide strategic leadership and governance across multiple children's residential homes in the South East.
This senior leadership role offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people. You will ensure outstanding care, uphold strong safeguarding practices, maintain full regulatory compliance, and inspire Registered Managers and their teams to deliver excellence.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure homes comply with Ofsted regulations, the Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and Quality Standards.
* Provide visible leadership, mentoring, and guidance to Registered Managers.
* Oversee and embed robust safeguarding policies and safe practices.
* Lead homes confidently through Ofsted inspections, aiming for 'Good' or 'Outstanding' outcomes.
* Manage resources, staffing, and budgets to ensure operational efficiency and sustainability.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, social workers, and regulatory bodies.
* Champion training, staff development, and performance management initiatives.
* Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and child-centred practice.
About You
* Minimum 3 years' senior leadership experience in children's residential care.
* NVQ Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/working towards).
* Strong knowledge of safeguarding, Ofsted frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
* Proven experience in compliance, operational oversight, and staff development.
* Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across the South East.
