Targo Tx is an innovative therapeutics company developing durable nucleic acid medicines enabled by our functionalised lipid nanoparticle platform. This encompasses two main research focuses: lipid nanoparticle formulation and payload design.
We are expanding the team at our site in Cambridgeshire and are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support day-to-day laboratory operations and ensure smooth running of scientific activities across the company.
Responsibilities:
* Work collaboratively to assist the R&D functions of the company
* Carry out molecular biology and formulation support activities: Prepare reagents, buffers, media and critical components, ensuring accurate material usage and inventory maintenance
* Assist with maintenance and storage of cell lines, ensuring cells are available for experimentation
* Assist team members with experiments, including sample measurements and biological assays
* Maintain adequate stock levels and inventories of laboratory consumables, common chemicals, reagents, enzymes, media etc. in central storage locations
* Responsible for preparation of buffers, glassware washing and autoclaving
* Assist with ordering procedure: stock take, ordering, quote requests and delivery dates. Liaise with suppliers to stay connected and up to date with products, services and technology
* Support shipping samples to collaborators, liaising with courier services
* Ensure compliance with Quality policies, SOPs and Health & Safety procedures
* Undertake any other appropriate roles and responsibilities that reasonably fall within the role holder’s skills and experience as requested
Person Specification:
* A level/BTEC or equivalent experience in biology or chemistry with good understanding of molecular biology and biological techniques
* BSc or equivalent experience in biochemistry, or related life science field, is desirable
* 1-2 years’ experience in a similar role is desirable
* Outstanding organisational skills, record keeping and attention to detail
* Solid understanding of basic lab equipment, Health & Safety and good lab practices
* Excellent team working and communication skills
* Knowledge and experience of tissue culture including aseptic technique is desirable
* Knowledge and practical experience of reagent and sample handling, and pipetting is desirable
