The role of Preconstruction Commercial Manager is to support the generation of profitable single and 2-Stage tenders for authorisation and submission, in order to maximise the order pipeline and its conversion into market share, revenue and operating profit within the business unit. During the preconstruction period you will develop the commercial plan for bids. Determining contractual, financial, technical and operational risks you will develop opportunity to minimise risk and maximise gross profit. You will be instrumental in developing, finalising and financially closing our offers working closely with other members of the Kier team and with the Client and their professional team. Ultimately the role will support the fulfilment of the pipeline of contracts safely, on time, and to the required quality while maximising gross profit and customers' satisfaction. Your day to day will include: Lead on and ultimately own the commercial offering on 2-stage tenders. Contribution to the generation of single stage tenders, proposing costs and estimating resources for projects using experience from other schemes. Participation in the winning of contracts while minimising risk and maximising profit by developing commercial offer with suppliers and subcontracts. Developing commercial plan for bids, considering actual prime cost requirements, design gap analysis, risk ownership/transfer strategy and prelim cost ownership/apportionment. Contribute to the overall Quality and Commercial aspect of the bid process of assessing, preparing, writing, validating, adjudication, and the final submission of tenders. This includes supporting and working with Bid Lead, design, planning, commercial and bid management functions and the Board. What are we looking for?
