Some pupils need more than just a teacher—they need someone steady, patient, and totally unflappable.
We’re working with a specialist setting in Redcar that supports pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. They’re on the lookout for a dedicated classroom teacher who can create a safe, consistent space for learners who’ve often faced more than their fair share of challenges.

What you’ll be doing:
Teaching small classes of pupils with SEMH needs
Creating routines that help pupils feel safe and ready to learn
Building strong relationships based on trust, respect, and consistency
Planning flexible, engaging lessons with a trauma-informed lens
Working closely with TAs, support staff, and external agencies
What you’ll need:
QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
Experience in SEMH or PRU settings (or mainstream with high-need pupils)
A positive, empathetic approach to behaviour management
Confidence in adapting lessons to suit a range of learning styles
A thick skin, a big heart, and a genuine drive to make a difference

Access to our online CPD Academy
Full support from a local consultant who gets specialist settings
