Kitchen Assistant/Cook/Laundry Assistant

Hours: Full-time and part-time posts available
Salary: £12.21 per hour

About the Role:
We are currently seeking reliable and experienced Kitchen Assistants and Cooks to join busy healthcare environments. In this vital role, you will support the preparation and serving of nutritious meals to patients, staff, and visitors, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. You will also provide cover for laundry shifts when required, playing an important part in promoting patient wellbeing and supporting the smooth running of essential services within the Trust.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist with the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals in line with dietary requirements.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the kitchen, food preparation, and laundry areas.
• Ensure food safety and hygiene regulations are followed at all times.
• Assist with stock rotation, deliveries, and correct food storage.
• Wash dishes, utensils, kitchen equipment, and laundry as required.
• Work effectively as part of the catering and support services team to meet service deadlines.
• Follow Trust guidelines and complete necessary records, such as temperature checks.
What We’re Looking For:
• Previous experience in a catering, kitchen, or laundry role (healthcare setting desirable but not essential).
• Knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards (training can be provided).
• Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility with shifts and willingness to cover both kitchen and laundry duties.
