P6 Planner

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Planner with strong Primavera P6 skills to support a long-term overhead lines infrastructure programme based in Glasgow.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and reporting against detailed project programmes for overhead line works, ensuring activities are logically sequenced, resource-aware, and aligned with project delivery milestones.
This is an Inside IR35 contract role, and applicants must live within a commutable distance of Glasgow, as regular attendance at the Glasgow office and/or project sites will be required.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
Produce linear plans for overhead line works across route-based infrastructure projects
Support planning for construction, access, outages, design, procurement, commissioning, and handover activities
Work closely with project managers, engineers, construction teams, and commercial teams to validate programme logic
Monitor progress against baseline programmes and identify delays, risks, and opportunities
Essential Experience
Proven experience as a Planner, Project Planner, or P6 Planner on infrastructure, utilities, energy, or construction projects
Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6
Experience working with multidisciplinary project teams
Strong communication skills and the ability to challenge and validate programme information
Must live within a commutable distance of Glasgow
Desirable Experience
Experience planning overhead line, transmission, distribution, power, utilities, or linear infrastructure
Experience on electricity transmission or distribution projects
Knowledge of outage planning, access constraints, wayleaves, permits, and site logistics
Experience with NEC contracts or supporting compensation event / change processes
Familiarity with earned value, progress measurement, and schedule risk analysis
Experience producing visual planning outputs, including time-chainage or linear planning views
