Nursery Teaching Assistant – Wakefield

Love the little things? From sticky fingers to story time, we’re looking for a caring and confident Nursery Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming early years setting in Wakefield.
This role is perfect for someone who knows their stuff when it comes to early childhood development—and is ready to roll up their sleeves, jump into messy play, and make those important early milestones feel magical.
What You’ll Be Doing:
* Supporting children aged 2–4 in their learning, play and personal development
* Creating a safe, nurturing environment where little ones can explore, grow, and thrive
* Getting stuck into sensory play, circle time, outdoor fun and all things early years
* Working closely with the Nursery Teacher and wider EYFS team to deliver engaging learning activities
* Supporting with toileting, snack times, routines, and transitions
What We’re Looking For:
* A Level 3 Childcare qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Early Years)
* Previous experience working with early years children in a nursery or school setting
* A warm, encouraging personality and the ability to build trusting relationships quickly
* A strong understanding of EYFS principles and child development
* Someone who brings calm, curiosity, and lots of smiles
