Staffline Recruitment have partnered with the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service, who require a Quantity Surveyor on a 6 month contract with possible extension, within their Facilities & Assets department. The salary is PO3, SP 32 Lot 4 - £21.96 p/h based at Lisburn HQ 36.25hrs per week. The main purpose of the Quantity Surveyor is to support Facilities and Assets' senior management in the provision of a full range of professional quantity surveying (QS) services. The postholder will ensure the implementation and delivery of Term Service Maintenance Contracts (TSC), and will contribute as an integral member of the Facilities and Assets Department to support the vision and mission of NIFRS. Either: (a) be a corporate member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors; OR (b) hold a degree in construction related discipline with a minimum of one year's relevant experience; OR (c) hold a minimum of HND or equivalent in a construction related discipline with a minimum of three years' relevant experience; OR (d) have a minimum of five years' experience in quantity surveying. 2. Have demonstrable experience of delivering effective Quantity Surveying support within a complex large organisation, multi-site and multi-disciplinary* with knowledge in at least 3 of the following areas: (a) NEC Term Service Contracts (or Measured Term Contracts) contract management (b) PSA Schedules of Work for Building, Mechanical & Electrical Works or equivalent (c) IT systems relating to QS measurement and preparation of accounts (d) NEC Term Service Contracts and their obligations relating to QS matters or equivalent 3. Can demonstrate: (a) excellent planning and organisational skills; (b) delivery of high quality work with excellent attention to detail; (c) excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and the ability to advise and negotiate with contractors and influence senior management; (d) a strong customer orientation. 4. Possess a current driving licence or have access to a form of transport that will permit the candidate to meet the requirements of the post in full. Desirable 1. Possess a Post-Graduate qualification in a relevant business related subject such as, a MA/MSc in Construction, or Project Management 2. Have at least 2 years' demonstrable experience delivering an effective QS function within a public sector organisation 3. Have experience in the use and application of IT systems. 4. Have experience in electrical services installation.
