On offer is the chance to join a well-established highways and infrastructure contractor, delivering maintenance, resurfacing, and improvement projects for local authorities and public sector clients. This is a great opportunity to step into a collaborative Bid Writer role, reporting into an experienced Senior Bid Writer and working as part of a close-knit team of three. The company has a strong reputation across the South East, with continued growth in the highways and infrastructure sector. This Bid Writer role will focus on producing compelling, high-quality written responses across the full bid lifecycle, from initial content gathering to final submission. Working on a mix of public sector and local authority tenders, you’ll be part of a small, supportive bid team with the freedom, flexibility, and stability that comes from joining a well-respected contractor.
Key Duties:
* Take responsibility for production of all written responses either as lead author or as support to other members of the bid team
* Owning and writing specific responses, undertaking interviews with operational and corporate support staff and proof reading / correcting documents produced by others
* Supporting other Bid Writers in the development of other responses to quality questions
* Produce written quality sections / responses for all aspects of the delivery process either from own knowledge or information gained by interview from the internal teams
* Research client background & strategies and relate that information to the Bid Team
* Meet key subcontractors / suppliers to obtain evidence of past works and the tender specific developed solution
* Attend site visits to gain onsite knowledge and develop case studies
Experience Required:
* Experienced Bid Writer
* Background in highways, civil engineering, construction or infrastructure is ideal but not limited to
* Excellent writing and presentation skills
* Commutable to Chelmsford and happy to be in the office 2/3 days a week
