Job Title: Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical/Electrical) Location: Telford, West Midlands Salary: Up to £50,000 dependant on experience & shift Job Type: Full-Time | Permanent Shifts: Weekly Rotating Shifts (double days or days/nights available) Overview: We are currently recruiting Maintenance Engineers to join a leading Tier 1 automotive manufacturer based in Telford. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced and highly automated production environment. We are seeking both mechanically and electrically biased engineers, with positions available for candidates at all levels – from entry-level up to advanced, experienced professionals. Key Responsibilities: * Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns on production, heavy industrial machinery and automated systems * Diagnose, repair, and improve both mechanical and electrical faults across a wide range of equipment * Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment upgrades * Minimise production downtime by acting swiftly and effectively on issues * Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and update service logs * Work closely with production and engineering teams to enhance machine performance and reliability * Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures What We’re Looking For: Entry-Level Candidates: * Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent) * Apprenticeship or college training in a mechanical or electrical discipline * Eagerness to learn, develop, and grow within a hands-on role in manufacturing Experienced Candidates: * Background in maintenance within automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments * Automotive background preferred but not essential * Strong mechanical or electrical fault-finding and repair skills * Experience with PLCs, robotics, automation systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics is desirable * Ability to work effectively under pressure and to production deadlines What We Offer: * Competitive salary * Weekly rotating shift pattern for a varied working schedule * Overtime opportunities and shift premiums * Pension scheme and employee benefits * Training and development pathways to support career progression * Modern, clean working environment and a supportive team culture
