The Role
The Tax Compliance Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of all global tax compliance activities across the Group in line with the Group’s annual compliance plan. The role requires attention to detail, and an ability to coordinate deadlines across multiple jurisdictions. In addition, the specialist will proactively identify opportunities to improve, automate, and standardise processes to enhance efficiency and control within the tax function.
This role is suitable for a highly organised and tech‑enabled tax professional who is comfortable working globally, managing competing priorities, and partnering with finance teams, advisors, and other internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Global Compliance Delivery
* Assist in the execution of the Group’s tax compliance cycle across all non‑employment taxes (corporate income tax, VAT/GST, sales tax, withholding tax, etc) and all jurisdictions in accordance with the plan defined by the Head of Tax.
* Prepare or coordinate the preparation of tax returns, calculations, supporting schedules, and other compliance documentation across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
* Maintain an accurate calendar of global tax deadlines and ensure all filings and payments are submitted on time.
* Support the Tax team in managing external advisors and monitoring performance against agreed deliverables.
* Assist in the review of transfer pricing calculations.
* Assist with gathering data for statutory accounts tax disclosures and year‑end tax reporting.
Process Improvement & Automation
* Assist with the implementation, testing, and validation of the Group’s VAT/Sales Tax engine to ensure accurate tax determination across global transactions.
* Identify opportunities to streamline recurring compliance activities, reduce manual processes, and enhance accuracy.
* Implement automation tools (e.g., data extraction, workflow tools, tax technology solutions) and in conjunction with the Tax team, drive the adoption of improved processes across the Group.
* Support the Tax team in building dashboards or other reporting mechanisms to improve visibility over the global compliance status.
Governance & Controls
* Maintain accurate and complete compliance documentation (returns, workings, evidence, correspondence).
* Assist with tax audits and regulatory queries, preparing responses and gathering data as needed.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
* Work closely with finance and business teams to collect data and educate stakeholders on tax requirements.
Technical & Professional
* Experience in tax compliance, ideally across multiple jurisdictions.
* Understanding of tax compliance processes, statutory deadlines, and typical tax reporting requirements.
* Experience preparing or reviewing tax filings (corporate income tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, etc).
* Familiarity with tax technology tools, automation platforms, or data‑handling tools.
Behavioural
* Real willingness to grow experience internationally, specifically building foundational understanding of U.S. sales and use tax concepts to assist with U.S. tax compliance tasks and process improvements.
* Highly organised with strong project‑management skills.
* Able to work to multiple deadlines across various time zones.
* Analytical thinker with a continuous‑improvement mindset.
* Comfortable communicating with finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Qualifications
* Ideally working towards an accounting or tax qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CTA or equivalent), but relevant experience also considered.
* Experience in multinational environments or shared‑service settings is an advantage.
