About the Role As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll be at the heart of a nurturing, stable home for children aged 10-17. Under the guidance of the Registered and Deputy Manager, you'll help deliver consistent,
trauma-informed care, promote positive routines, and support each young person’s growth, independence, and wellbeing.

Your Key Responsibilities
1. Direct Care & Daily Support
· Deliver person-centred, trauma-informed care
· Support with daily routines: mornings, meals, personal care, and evenings
· Encourage emotional regulation and independence
· Facilitate access to education, recreation, and enrichment opportunities
· Accompany young people to appointments and outings
2. Key Working & Goal Setting
· Act as keyworker, holding regular one-to-one sessions
· Set and monitor SMART goals tailored to individual needs
· Work closely with the wider team and external professionals
· Use trauma-informed methods to support progress
3. Safeguarding & Risk Awareness
· Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns
· Follow procedures and report issues promptly
· Help develop and implement risk management strategies
· Address behaviours such as absconding, bullying, or online risk
4. Household Responsibilities
· Maintain a clean and safe living environment
· Support with meal planning, cooking, and shopping
· Promote hygiene, food safety, and infection control
· Assist with household tasks including laundry
5. Documentation & Administration
· Keep accurate, detailed records of care and incidents
· Comply with Regulation 36 and data protection requirements
· Support with medication documentation where required
· Participate in thorough shift handovers
6. Education & Aspirations
· Encourage school attendance and academic engagement
· Support with homework and long-term goal setting
· Liaise with education professionals as needed
· Promote extracurricular involvement
7. Teamwork & Professional Conduct
· Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure consistent care
· Lead by example and support junior or agency staff
· Attend meetings, supervision, and training
· Build positive relationships across the care network
8. Ongoing Learning & Development
· Complete all mandatory and refresher training
· Engage in reflective practice and professional supervision
· Stay informed on current policies and legislation
· Maintain a personal development plan
What We’re Looking For
· At least 1 year of experience in residential childcare or similar (preferred)
· Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or working towards it
· Emotionally resilient, nurturing, and reliable
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Solid understanding of safeguarding and child protection
· Full UK driving licence (preferred)
