Overview of role Location: Belfast Closing Date: 27th March 2026 The job is a front line managerial role in Despatch, reporting to the Despatch Manager, and will involve directly managing a team. The job holder will provide the team with the leadership and direction needed to deliver the business' targets for the site. By focusing on individual and team involvement you will develop a positive climate where all employees are able and motivated to contribute by actively recognising and identifying individual and team performance. You will also be responsible for ensuring the team correctly administers and reconciles all incoming goods into Despatch, controls, allocate and picks stock as per customer requirements and correctly loads and administers all departing vehicles in a safe manner whilst controlling costs. Key Accountabilities Maintain a safe working environment in area of operation by actively promoting "Safety First" and "Clean as You Go" cultures. Ensure that self and team are fully aware and compliant with all Health & Safety standards, policies, Safe Systems of Work (SSW's) and legislation. Ensure that shift is adequately staffed, trained, briefed, monitored and motivated to fulfil shift objectives. Develop a positive climate where all employees are able and motivated to contribute. To ensure that despatched goods meet customer expectations including code control. Ensure that all departing vehicles are documented, loaded and secured correctly. Responsible for food safety/product integrity within despatch and transport, maintain hygiene standards and be responsible for traceability and product withdrawal procedures. Responsible for controlling costs within the shift, including Labour (including agency, absence and holidays), Damage, Sales Losses, and all other associated costs. Manage Despatch throughputs including de-cant, pick rates, loading, unloading, administration and other associated costs The Right Person Essential 2 - 5 years' experience of leading a team preferably in a warehouse environment Motivated to develop management skill set Good working knowledge of Computerised Stock Systems PC literate, including a working ability with Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Word Willing to work shifts (42 hrs p/w on 12 hour day and night shift) Desirable Previous experience in transport logistics operations Experience of Stock Control & good analytical capability Demonstratable leadership and management abilities.
