The Role:
The Mechanical Assembly Fitter will work within our Production team using their time served mechanical assembly skills to build and test lifting equipment. The role requires a good understanding of mechanical engineering principles, a high attention to detail and excellent fitting skills.
Skills Required for the role:
• Top level fitting and assembly skills
• Hold a recognised qualification or served a full mechanical apprenticeship
• Understanding of how to work to quality procedures
• Be proficient with reading and interpreting CAD drawings
• Ability to offer ideas on improvement of designs as required
• Be a good team player
• Be a good time-keeper
• Be aware of safety issues
• Have good health and level of general fitness
• Hold a full clean driving licence
• Fork lift truck certificate advantageous
• Slinging – use of cranes
• Understanding of welding and fabricating
• National safety passport advantageous
Requirements for a successful Mechanical Fitter:
• Relevant qualification NVQ Level 2/3 or Time-served apprenticeship.
• Must have engineering experience gained within an assembly and manufacturing environment.
• Reasonable IT skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Well organised.
• Good communication skills both written and verbal.
Hours of Work:
Monday – Thursday 07:30 – 16:00
Friday 07:30 – 13:00
37.5 Hours per week
