Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) to act as our Principal Estimator and Project Manager for all structured cabling-related works across the UK and Europe. This dual-role position blends advanced technical design capabilities with commercial estimation and project delivery oversight, influencing the delivery of high-impact, future-proofed cabling solutions for leading clients.
The successful candidate will lead the design and cost planning for structured cabling systems in compliance with UK and international standards, working closely with account management and other technical teams to develop proposals, tender responses, and detailed system documentation. You will ensure that installations align with client specifications and regulatory requirements, while driving operational quality and efficiency.

Salary: £60k + Dependant on experience
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the estimation process for all structured cabling projects, ensuring commercially sound and technically robust cost models.
* Produce or oversee the production of detailed design documentation, including layout drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical submittals.
* Respond to and support the preparation of tenders, bids, and RFQs, partnering with the business development team to shape winning proposals.
* Take ownership of structured cabling project delivery from inception through completion, ensuring adherence to programme, budget, and quality expectations.
* Coordinate internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.
* Use AutoCAD, Revit, and Monday.com for system design, modelling, scheduling, and collaborative task management.
* Ensure all cabling designs and installations are in line with local regulations and best practice.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of UK building regulations, CDM 2015, and relevant health and safety legislation.
* Support or lead on-site inspections, commissioning, and handover activities.
* Monitor and enforce quality standards across all deliverables and installations.
* Contribute to the development of internal design and estimating methodologies and mentor junior staff.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Current RCDD certification
* 5+ years’ experience designing and estimating structured cabling systems in various environments within the UK.
* In-depth knowledge of copper and fibre optic infrastructure, cabling topologies, containment systems, and related layouts.
* Familiarity with UK construction practices and regulations, including CDM Regulations 2015, BS 7671, and structured cabling codes.
* Competence with AutoCAD, Revit, and project collaboration tools such as Monday.com.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proven project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
* Holds a full UK driver’s licence.
