Overview
Danby Ward is a 13 bedded male acute ward, which consists of a multidisciplinary team including nurses, healthcare assistants, medics, psychology, activity co-ordinators and occupational therapists. Danby Ward is a busy environment, challenging at times but rewarding, with a focus on supporting patients in their recovery to enable them to return home. The successful candidate will empower and support our patients to aid their recovery in their mental health and support in equipping them with the skills they need to live independently.

Responsibilities
* Support and empower patients in their recovery from mental health concerns and help equip them with skills to live independently.
* Provide care as part of a multi-disciplinary team on Danby Ward.
* Support a recovery-focused approach within a busy acute inpatient unit.
* Engage in in-house training sessions and development opportunities to support team and individual growth.
Qualifications and requirements
* Diploma in Health and Social Care Level 2 or equivalent.
* Literacy and Numeracy level 2 or equivalent.
* Must complete the Trust Healthcare Assistant competencies within probation (first 6 months in role).
* If lacking required qualifications, enrol on the Healthcare Assistant Framework, including acquisition of level 2 Diploma Health and Social Care, level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy or equivalent and achievement of competencies (maximum 2 years to complete).
* Right to Work in the UK. This role does not meet eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa; sponsorship may be available for Health and Care Worker or Skilled Worker visa, subject to candidate and position eligibility. Contract details
Part-time: 30 hours per week, fixed-term for 18 months. Shifts include 12-hour shifts, nights, long days, weekends and bank holidays. Applicants should have agreement from their current line manager to be released on a secondment basis; if permanent funding is secured, successful applicants may be appointed permanently.
Additional information
Two start dates per month on the 1st and 3rd Mondays for new starters to the Trust.
