The Role of a Maintenance Operative
The maintenance operative is responsible for domestic repairs and maintenance of the premises, minor projects within the site, and ensuring compliance for the site's operation.
* Ensure all areas are safe, welcoming, clean, hygienic, in good repair, and sensitive to the needs of the students
* Maintain high standards of record keeping and reporting related to the site
* Participate in and undertake regular audits of quality systems
* Inspect and address substandard works from contractors
* Ensure compliance with all relevant national regulations and inspection standards
* Manage workload effectively and proactively
* Liaise with the Regional Facilities Manager on larger projects and seek technical assistance from the Facilities Manager
* Identify projects to improve the facility's image, functionality, and efficiency
* Complete projects within schedule and leave contractor areas in good condition
* Manage grounds maintenance
What you will bring
* Knowledge of building and maintenance
* Experience with compliance and record keeping
* Trade background preferred but not essential
Enhanced DBS and reference checks will be conducted in line with government regulations and safer recruitment practices.
