Join our Restoring Rivers & Catchments Team and help deliver meaningful environmental change. As a Project Officer, working predominantly in the South London area, you'll design and deliver a range of physical river and catchment enhancement projects—from early concept and design through to on‑the‑ground implementation. Projects may include weir removals, fish passage improvements, habitat restoration, wetland creation, SuDS and Natural Flood Management.

Key Responsibilities
Develop and design river and catchment enhancement projects using sound science and best practice
Secure environmental consents, permissions and landowner agreements
Build strong, positive relationships with partners and stakeholders
Lead or support project delivery, including managing contractors, volunteers and colleagues
Ensure Health & Safety compliance across all project activity
Support communications, fundraising, monitoring and wider organisational work
Mentor Assistant Project Officers and contribute to a collaborative team culture
What We Are Looking For
We're seeking someone with freshwater or environmental expertise, strong project management skills and a genuine enthusiasm for river and catchment restoration. You should feel confident leading medium‑scale projects, working with a range of partners and contributing to the wider goals of the organisation.

You will bring:
Experience delivering environmental, conservation or construction‑related projects
Good understanding of river processes, freshwater ecology or catchment management
Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills
A proactive, collaborative approach and willingness to support and learn from others
A passion for improving rivers and the natural environment
