Job Opportunity: Care Assistant in Fife
Older People’s Services has 8 residential services across Fife, each with a dedicated team. You can view the service locations at the top of this advert and will be asked to specify your location preference during the interview process.
The successful candidate will work on a rota basis within the care home, including early shifts, late shifts, and night duties. Unsocial hours will be paid at the basic rate plus one-third of the hourly rate.
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our care home team within Fife Council’s Residential and Day Services. The role involves providing positive support and encouragement to help residents make their own choices and decisions, supporting their access to activities, and promoting their independence, health, and wellbeing.
Our care homes offer ongoing care and support to vulnerable older people, including respite, STAR units, and day services.

The Person
* Must have or be able to work towards the required qualification as specified by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC). It is your responsibility to inform the SSSC once qualified.
* Provide care that meets the Health and Social Care Standards.
* Work collaboratively with other Council services and partner agencies to plan and deliver care effectively.
* Work flexibly and creatively within a dynamic team environment.
* Register with the SSSC within 6 months of starting, applying within 3 months of employment. Maintain registration by achieving the required qualification, completing Continuous Professional Learning (CPL), and submitting annual declarations via MySSSC. Note: You must start your registration application within three months of employment to ensure registration within six months.
Before appointment, you will need to obtain PVG scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and join the relevant scheme.
