The Opportunity.
Our client, a country house hotel in Thurso, is looking for an experienced chef for 4-6 weeks with potential to be extended.
Key Responsibilities.
* Oversee daily kitchen activities and ensure smooth service
* Coordinate food preparation and cooking across stations
* Step in to lead the kitchen in the Head Chef’s absence
* Ensure all dishes are prepared to the required standards
* Monitor portion sizes, presentation, and taste
* Maintain consistency in recipes and plating
* Ensure team members follow kitchen procedures and standards
* Ensure cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
* Monitor proper storage and handling of ingredients
* Assist with ordering supplies and managing stock levels
* Reduce waste and control food costs
* Check deliveries for quality and accuracy
Requirements.
Essential.
* Minimum of Sous Chef level
* Follow Health and Safety procedures
