As a Programmes & Transformation Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of key programmes and projects, especially those linked to Local Government Reorganisation. You'll help develop and embed PMO tools and processes, champion continuous improvement, and foster a culture where learning and evidence‑based practice are part of everyday work. Working closely with the Head of Policy, Performance & Transformation and the wider team, you'll ensure the council's priorities and transformation agenda stay on track.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of transformation programmes and projects, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities.
* Develop and improve PMO templates, tools, and methodologies.
* Ensure programmes are delivered to scope, time, cost, and quality.
* Facilitate change and transformation initiatives, and promote PMO maturity and best practices across the council.
* Provide analytical expertise, utilising digital platforms such as Power BI to inform decision‑making.
* Support regular reporting, develop programme dashboards, and facilitate improvement reviews.
* Foster a culture of critical evaluation, continuous improvement, and learning.
* Support statutory reporting and consultation processes, ensuring compliance and transparency.
* Support the council's governance framework and facilitate effective decision‑making.
