Senior Health Care Support Worker/ Trainee Assistant Practitioner – NHS Scotland
This is a training opportunity within NHS Tayside to develop into the role of an Assistant Practitioner. Successful applicants will be supported to complete a Professional Development Award SCQF level 8 at Dundee College. Duration of the training period is approximately 1 year. The post holder will be based in Abbey Health Centre, Arbroath and will integrate with teams across the South Locality and Angus according to service need. The role requires flexible working to cover a 24-hour period over 7 days, with rotation of day/evening shifts and may involve travel across the Angus area.
Responsibilities
* Work within multidisciplinary teams delivering high quality, patient-centred care
* Supervised and report to a Registered Practitioner
* Communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals, verbally and in writing
* Demonstrate commitment to maintaining high professional standards and the organisation’s values
* Participate in ongoing professional development and training, including clinical skills and online learning
* Achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and comply with the Code of Conduct
* Be willing to travel across the geographical area of Angus as required
* Possess or develop caring, professional manner and excellent communication skills to work in a high-pressure environment

* Commitment to delivering outstanding patient care and reliability; motivated to learn and develop
* Ability to adapt to changing situations and work well in a team
* Community experience would be an advantage
* Initial induction programme followed by professional development opportunities
* Hours of work: 22.2 hours per week
* Contract type: Permanent/Part Time with progression to Band 4 on successful completion of training
