Exciting New Opportunity: Outreach Occupational Therapist Sensory Processing Support in Schools (Hull)
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people? Are you looking to expand specialist skills in sensory processing within a supportive and innovative team?
We are delighted to offer a new and exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist to join our established Sensory Processing Service, delivering outreach support to schools across Hull. This role has been created to enhance access to sensory-informed support for children and young people whose sensory processing differences are affecting their participation and engagement in learning, helping ensure pupils with sensory differences are supported to access education and participate meaningfully in school life.
You will join a forward-thinking, evidence-based service committed to improving outcomes for pupils with sensory needs. This new post will expand our service to offer outreach support into mainstream schools and Enhanced Resource Provisions (ERPs),
About The Role
As a valued member of the Humber Sensory Processing Service, you will:
Provide outreach support to schools and ERPs across the region.
Assess and support children and young people with sensory processing differences, using both standardised assessments and clinical observation.
Develop and implement practical, individualised strategies and intervention plans in collaboration with school staff and other agencies.
Deliver training and offer consultation to school teams to build understanding and capacity around sensory needs in educational settings.
Work in close partnership with education, health, and social care professionals.
As this is an outreach role into schools, working patterns to align with school term times whilst still offering flexibility
