GSL Education seeks a compassionate SEN Teaching Assistan t in Ashford who can bring their childcare experience into a school environment that values care, consistency, and connection. Key Responsibilities: Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs, assisting with academic tasks and promoting independence. Implement strategies to support students' social, emotional, and behavioural development. Assist in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials to meet individual needs. Support students with personal care needs, including mobility assistance, feeding, and toileting, ensuring their comfort and dignity. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement. Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to monitor student progress and adjust support strategies accordingly. Promote the safety and well-being of students in line with school policies and safeguarding procedures. Requirements: Previous experience as a nanny or in a childcare setting, with a strong understanding of child development and individual needs. Experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families. Patience, empathy, and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Willingness to undergo enhanced background checks, as required for working with children and vulnerable adults. Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 3, SEN TA training) are desirable. Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
