Job description:
We are currently recruiting for a Service Technician - Escalators - Nights to join our team based in London, working on a 4 on, 4 off basis between 19:00 & 07:00. The successful candidate will carry out planned preventative maintenance regimes as determined by the contract to on-portfolio escalator equipment. Responsibilities include completing safety inspections, addressing non-conformities, improving equipment condition, minor repairs, lifecycle replacements, and adhering to safety procedures. The role also involves providing coverage via an on-call rota for out-of-hours maintenance and repairs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Perform routine servicing of escalator equipment, including minor repairs and component replacements following company procedures.
* Rectify faults on escalator equipment during breakdowns and verify correct operation.
* Conduct checks such as speed, motor start/stop, noise, temperature, and power supply using approved tools and equipment.
* Inspect, adjust, and document escalator installations in accordance with procedures.
* Perform fault finding and diagnostics using various techniques and equipment to restore equipment to service.
* Work in compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental policies, and uphold Schindler's core values.
* Attend relevant training sessions and contribute to safety and quality policies.
Candidate Requirements:
* Proven experience in escalator servicing, maintenance, or repairs preferred.
* NVQ level 3 or higher in escalator maintenance.
* Customer-focused with high service standards.
* Team player, proactive, and able to prioritize workload.
* Good problem-solving and communication skills.
* Full UK driving license (note: walking routes may not require this).
