We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled individual to join the Early Years Team. The role involves supporting early learning and childcare providers within the local authority, voluntary, and private sectors, as well as early stages of primary and out-of-school care staff, parents, and children, particularly in relation to day-care and behaviour support.
The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, motivated, and experienced in working with children and families.
You will be responsible for the operational management of the daycare service, including financial management of the daycare budget, developing and implementing training programs related to behaviour support, and planning and delivering staff development and parental training programs.
Requirements include a relevant qualification in childcare, education, community education, or equivalent, along with experience in appropriate childcare and education settings. Knowledge of out-of-school care groups, voluntary and private childcare, childminders, education providers, community groups, and other agencies is essential. Experience working with children and families facing challenging issues is also required.
You must understand the Regulation of Care (Scotland) Act 2001 and the role of SSSC. Experience in applying strategies to support children's behaviour and knowledge of training resources for staff are necessary.
Additional knowledge of parenting programs and their positive impacts, effective communication skills, and the ability to work cooperatively with diverse professionals and motivate others are also essential.
