About The Role:

This is a full-time, 37.5-hour per week fixed-term position for 2 years. Secondments will be considered with prior agreement from your line manager. Join us and become a vital part of shaping the future of paediatric care your voice will influence service development and drive improvements across the department.

As a Sister / Charge Nurse with a special interest in Mental Health and Wellbeing, youll lead with innovation, demonstrating outstanding communication and organisational skills. Your leadership will inspire change, support your team, and enhance the experience for children, families, and staff alike.

About The Role:

As a key leader in our department, you will be responsible for assessing the care needs of our young patients, developing tailored care programs, and evaluating their outcomes. You will serve as the named care provider for a specific group of children and support the overall care of all patients within your unit.

Your Leadership And Expertise:

In this role, you will provide daily clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff, championing evidence-based practice. You will work closely with the Ward/Unit Manager, stepping in confidently when needed, to ensure the smooth running of the department.

Collaboration And Development:

You will liaise with our dedicated Mental Health teams, ensuring that our practices align with local and national guidelines. Supporting staff wellbeing and promoting a positive, nurturing environment will be a key part of your role. Youll also have the opportunity to provide training and development to colleagues, sharing your expertise and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Our beautifully designed, bright, and spacious unit includes Paediatric Inpatients, Critical Care, Surgery, and a Paediatric Observation and Assessment area. Our Community Teams provide a wide range of nursing services, both in clinics and in childrens homes, working collaboratively with therapy teams to maximise opportunities and positive outcomes for children and young people.
