The Role
A civil engineering contractor delivering water and wastewater network infrastructure schemes is seeking an experienced Site Agent / Site Supervisor to support ongoing framework projects.
This is a site-based role responsible for the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of clean water and wastewater network works. You will oversee daily construction activities, ensuring programme, quality, and health & safety standards are met.
Projects typically include mains renewals, new pipeline installations, asset upgrades, and works within live operational environments.
This position suits an experienced site professional who is confident managing site teams, coordinating subcontractors, and maintaining high safety and technical standards across utility infrastructure schemes.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee day-to-day site operations across clean water and/or wastewater projects
* Supervise direct labour and subcontractors to ensure safe and efficient delivery
* Ensure compliance with client specifications, regulatory requirements, and company standards
* Manage site documentation including RAMS, permits, inspection test plans, and daily site records
* Coordinate with project and commercial teams to maintain programme and cost control
* Monitor quality of installation works against technical requirements
* Identify and manage site risks, escalating issues where necessary
* Promote and enforce a strong health & safety culture on site
* Liaise with operational stakeholders when working within live utility environments
About You
* Proven experience as a Site Agent or Site Supervisor within water and/or wastewater network infrastructure
* Strong understanding of underground utilities, pipeline installation, and associated civil works
* Experience working within long-term infrastructure frameworks desirable
* Relevant site qualifications (e.g., SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS)
* Sound knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practice
* Confident managing site teams and subcontract supply chains
* Organised, proactive, and delivery-focused
* Able to manage competing priorities while maintaining programme and quality standards
