We are seeking to appoint a First Inspection Team Member to work within our established Production Team.
The Role:
You will be responsible for inspecting fabric to identify defects, marks, or quality issues and clearly marking (specking) them to ensure only acceptable fabric is used in production. To ensure the product is fit for purpose to pass onto the next process.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inspect fabric visually during finishing process.
* Identify defects such as holes, stains, colour variation, knots, oil marks, or weaving faults.
* Mark defective areas accurately using string to help next process identify issue.
* Measure defect size and record defect details as per quality standards.
* Ensure fabric roll numbers and shade information are correct.
* Follow fabric inspection standards (Customer/ company standards).
* Report major defects to supervisors or quality controllers.
* Confidently raise issues with operators when standards are not met.
* Maintain cleanliness and proper handling of fabric.
* Training will be provided and signed off by department team lead.
Knowledge, skills and experience
* Good eyesight and attention to detail.
* Known for high standards and attention to quality.
* Ability to stand for a long period of time.
* Manual handling.
* Ability to follow instructions
* Follow and complete technical data packs.
* Ability to work under pressure.
* Good communication skills.
