Equans is looking for a Fabric Engineer to join our team at the Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth. This is a full-time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week. On offer is a salary banding of £28, - £30, per annum dependent upon skills and experience. In addition you will also receive an excellent benefits package.
What will you deliver?
1. Support the Estates Management team in delivering 24-hour maintenance services.
2. Promote a culture of excellent customer service, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to address maintenance issues effectively.
3. Diagnose faults, repair, and maintain complex and specialised hospital equipment after suitable training.
4. Undertake a variety of building tasks, including carpentry, painting, fitting ironmongery, and flooring.
5. Actively participate in the Fabric Team on-call rota to ensure timely response to maintenance needs.
6. Work in challenging environments, including unblocking drains and sewers, which may involve exposure to biological hazards and noxious fumes.
7. Liaise with the Stores Team for requisition, supply, and security of materials.
8. Monitor and check the work of contractors to ensure compliance with standards.
9. Observe all relevant statutory requirements, particularly relating to the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH regulations, and Electrical IEE regulations.
10. Carry out work across multiple trades where necessary and within the scope of competence.
11. Carry a radio or pager to facilitate immediate response to urgent tasks.

Who are you?
23. NVQ or City & Guilds Craft Certificate relevant to the trade or similar recognised trade
24. Competent in Flooring and Upholstery
25. Experience in Building maintenance and systems
26. Basic competence with IT and PDAs
27. Due to the nature of the contract, successful candidate must be able to obtain a DBS Standard Check
