Teaching Assistants – ASD Base (2 Positions)

We are currently recruiting for two dedicated Teaching Assistants to join the ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) base at a secondary school in the Cardiff area for the upcoming full academic year.

About the Role
The successful candidates will be supporting students with:
* Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
* High levels of anxiety
* Trauma-informed backgrounds
You will work closely with teaching staff and support teams to provide tailored support, helping students engage with learning and develop confidence both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 and small group support within the ASD base
* Support students through emotional regulation and anxiety management
* Assist with the delivery of learning for students working at GCSE level
* Build trusting, consistent relationships with students
* Implement behaviour and support strategies in line with school policies
Requirements
* Previous experience working with children or young people with ASD, anxiety, or trauma is essential
* Ability to stay calm, patient, and empathetic in challenging situations
* Confidence supporting students working towards or completing GCSEs
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
